Great jumpin' jellybeans!!!

Apple is switching to Intel processors!!! It appears that Apple has been compiling OS X for Intel chips for the last 5 years, which leads me to believe that they've been considering this move for a while now.

In other news, record low temperatures reported across Hell...

BTW, I consider this a good thing, if for no other reason than to eliminate the "but your machine has fewer megahertz thingies!" argument. And no, this doesn't mean that you'll be able to run OS X on your PC (emulation aside, of course). It's just a processor change, guys- Apple isn't getting out of the hardware business. A Mac will still be a Mac. Virtual PC will probably get faster though, since there'll be less CPU emulation overhead.

Truly interesting stuff.
