I'm not happy to be back. Not at all.

As much as I love my "normal" life, transitioning from con-space back to reality feels like suffocating. The only positive is the possibility of actually getting a decent amount of sleep. That and I'd really missed APAR.

Dragon*Con was, not surprisingly, fantastic. We had a wonderful time, and I'm still processing the blur of events. Once again, there could've been three of me there all doing different activities and we all would've had a packed schedule. Maybe I'll go online and see if I can pull down recordings of panels I missed.

The panels were great. The parties were great. The costumes were great. Getting to hang out with friends (both local friends and the ones we generally only see at 'con) was super-mega-mega-great- definitely the high point. There was surprisingly little late night wandering about, but on the flip side I actually managed to get up "early" to attend panels a couple of times and found it worthwhile.

It was also nice getting to see Kim's mom both on the way up and on the way back. She's back home now and seemed like her old self yesterday, if less mobile. I hope that the positive trend continues.

For now I sit at work and catch up on e-mail and try not to scream. I haven't actually spoken with another human being yet at work, and I'm okay with that. I'm looking forward to Necronomicon next month to ease the withdrawal. :-)

Oh, I also haven't read LJ since before we left for Atlanta, and am almost a week behind on e-mail, so apologies if I've missed major life events.
