My life in quick bullet point format

* Last Friday was date night. redheadlass and I went to Ybor for sushi at a new place, found that it was closed, and "settled" for a wonderful sushi feast at Samurai Blue. We also ran into alias_node and nihilus, which was a nice surprise, and got to watch some outspoken atheists argue with some outspoken Christians. IMHO, nobody won. Everyone involved was a bonehead.

* redheadlass makes the best pancakes and the best pork loin Evar. Not mixed together, fortunately.

* redheadlass demonstrated other impressive talents this weekend as well, but I'll keep this entry G-rated. ;-)

* Yesterday was my dad's 65th birthday! He could still probably kick my butt. I got to talk with him yesterday afternoon, which is always a good thing.

* Sleep is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

* Users who call me directly instead of calling in trouble tickets, or who don't submit requests for moves until the day of the move, suck.

* We watched Comedy Central's roast of William Shatner last night. It was funnier than I'd expected, and waaaay more vulgar! Holy crap!

* CON!!!!!!!

* Work has been getting quite busy lately, and it's all been weird, out-of-the-blue stuff.

* I'm working on what will end up being a fairly lengthy LJ post (apologies in advance) about cryonics. I'm hoping to have it done within the next few days, and possibly see if it could serve as the basis for a handout at the cryonics panel at Dragon*Con.

* Sigue Sigue Sputnik finally has a handful of songs available on iTMS! *goes to download*

* In The Groove (a DDR game made by Red Octane) rocks. It's also absolutely evil, but in a good way.

* femetal is hot. :-)

* This weekend (probably Sunday) I'll start bleaching my hair for 'con.

* Lunchtime!

Seconding in the groove. Ryan "Four Feet" McKanna is a masochist to the highest degree; it's a thing of beauty. - ZM

No kidding! Sometimes it seems as though the most surprising aspect of ITG is that my heart hasn't just exploded in my chest.

I don't think that I'm particularly adept, but I am gradually improving. I can breeze through the Easy level, but there are a handful songs that I still haven't completed on Medium level. Hard level is an exercise in humility for me, and there are only a couple of songs that I've completed at that level.

Heretic!! ;-) There's a good chance a big group of us will be getting sushi at some point during Dragon*Con. Care to join us?

I would love to join you guys...what should I wear...? can I bring my roomie...? (that assumes she wants to try sushi)...I never went because I couldn't find anyone who would go with me and teach me about sushi...seems like something one needs to be led in enjoying...or that could just be a 9 1/2 weeks fantasy...

The more the merrier! There's really not much to learn about it, aside from determining what you like and getting accustomed to chopsticks.

Oh, I do have one tip though: The green stuff is wasabi. It is not to be trifled with or taunted. :-)

I am not much on wasabi...

Am hoping to have great time there...and hoping to catch up with you guys and a few others that are planning on being there...was going to ask a silly question and thought better of embarrassing myself...

Hey that girl was at least 8 and she had a glandular problem of some kind!

They seem all sweet and harmless until it's you that they're whaling on with their SpongeBob Squarepants backpacks!
