A few random Dragon*Con notes...

The Pocket Program and schedule grids are now available for download here. From what I've heard, the maps have been updated to reflect the remodeling that's been done over the last year. It also includes the Sheraton (yes, it's grown to *4* hotels this year!), and the maps are supposedly more detailed and usable than they've been in the past.

Kim and I are off work starting on Wednesday, which will be devoted to con prep. We'll be leaving Tampa on Thursday early afternoon, getting a room somewhere north of Macon Thursday night, and then completing the trip (hopefully rested and ready to go) on Friday morning. We'll be staying in the Hilton. By happy coincidence, the Skeptic, Podcasting, and Space/Science tracks are all also in the Hilton. I may never leave the building!

Adam Baldwin and Katee Sackhoff have both had to cancel. However, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, and Michael Hogan are last minute additions. Hopefully we'll be picking up a few new autographs for our Firefly and Serenity posters! :-)

Just as an FYI for anyone interested in seeing the Heroes cast- all of the Heroes actors that are listed on the site and in the program guide will be there, but they're under contractual obligation with NBC not to appear on any panels. I expect that they'll all be at the Walk of Fame.

As usual, The Signal will be recording a live episode at the con. Even better (to me at least), The Skeptics' Guide To The Universe will also be recording a show live! The SGU is my hands-down favorite podcast, and to me this is the *real* "Heroes" event. I wouldn't be surprised if James Randi ends up participating as well, since he's a regular contributor to the podcast and will be at `con.

My hair is yellow right now. AIEEEEE!!! Bleaching #2 will be tonight, with bleaching #3 on Wednesday. Whatever is left of my hair will then be permitted to go to `con.

Can... not... WAIT!!!

As an unrelated-to-Dragon*Con side note, Mythbusters will be airing their episode on moon landing hoax conspiracy theories on Wednesday the 27th! I will most definitely be downloading that one from iTunes!

Woo Hoo!!
Finally! I can see the schedule and start planning which panels I'm going to attend! I was getting anxious what with 2 of the major tracks I plan to spend time in not having their schedule available online!

And, I just discovered the most awesome e-reader for my ipod! Anyone who has an iTouch or iPhone should go download the free app called Stanza, which will allow you to view pdfs and docs (among other things) on your ipod, and will store them locally and even remember what page you were last on. Having the Pocket Program available on PDF will come in SO handy with this e-reader, since I'll be carrying around my iPod with me anyway.

Thanks for posting this, I had no idea they offered the Pocket Program!

an idea --
Hey, Eric, some time you need to post a series of shots, from natural hairs to fully de-colored hairs, please!

The blondest person you know would love to see the process.

*color me jealous - say "hi" to Nathan and Alan for me and tell Jewel that my husband wants to "put it in her butt" (straight from the horses mouth - but in his mind, it's a term of endearment, as he doesn't really get crushes on celebrities)

Also, I'm dying that Mickey from The Monkees is on the Guest List too :)

Not that it wasn't already obvious, but he has exquisite taste in women. I have to admit, I'd really love to put it in her butt too! :-)
