On a *COMPLETELY* different note...

Kim bought a new brand of cat litter. It's made out of corn.

God help me, it smells delicious! I wanted to take a handful of it and eat it. I never could've imagined that I'd ever stick my face near a cat box, inhale, and salivate. It's cognitive dissonance on an epic scale, and it shakes me to my very core!

*shudders*

In other news, I'm typing this post in order to stall the inevitable but unpleasant task of bleaching my hair for Dragon*Con. Tonight is the first bleaching, to be followed up on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Oh, and we saw Death Race tonight with scrappygeek and synaptic_gap. It wasn't high art, technically accurate, or especially believable, but it was a hell of a lot of fun! Think Car Wars: The Movie. Cool cars, lots of explosions and gunfire, and (to my industrial/cyberpunk aesthetic) one of best Industrial Hell settings I've seen in a very long time. I don't think there was a single piece of vegetation in the entire movie. >:-]

I'd loan you mine, Eric, but I'm using it. The white hair, that is.
It's crossed my mind, and in a way I'm just a bit envious. A couple of times each year I put myself through an uncomfortable and time consuming process just to temporarily achieve something that's completely natural for you. :-)

Next try the crystal litter. You will want to put it in decorative bowls around the house because it's so pretty! Plus it totally sucks the moisture out of the air..

We've tried that! As kitty litter goes it is pretty, but it's also more expensive. More importantly, when the cat tracks a few pieces of it out of the box it feels exactly like stepping on broken glass. Ouch!

Death Race noooooooooooooo!

The original > the remake.

The original definitely had the cheese factor going for it, and the point values for pedestrian casualties are a wonderful addition to the cultural zeitgeist, but I still think that the remake was more enjoyable.

Actually, the two are so different that it's hard to consider them as being the same story. Without giving away any spoilers, the "remake" sadly doesn't end with Frankenstein being elected president and then immediately running over some innocent bystanders.

I hadn't thought about it, but if bringing it means that you'll get zapped then I certainly will! :-)
