Uptime 83:12:02

Mostly as a note to myself, but also perhaps to show off just a bit, as of right now Gir's uptime is 83 days, 12 hours, and 2 minutes. Not damn bad for a laptop that gets abusedfunctions as my primary computer! I'm going to reboot him now and then run Software Update.

I <3 my PowerBook!

Yeah, I was looking at those yesterday. *drool*

You've got me thinking about the proper format in which to put numbers of different bases, since days are in base ten. But then, hours are also in base ten, and we still write them HH:MM. But decimal times are represented HH:MM:SS.DD, right? I wonder if it would be more appropriate to write 83.12:02?

Okay, yes, I need to get back to studying for my actuarial exam... LOL!

You're such a geek!!! >>>HUG!!!<<<

If I recall correctly, the way Gir actually reported the time was "83 days, 12:02". I'll check him again tomorrow morning to verify how it's listed.

BTW, I got the uptime by opening a terminal window and using the "uptime" command. Mmmm... UNIXy goodness!
